Phish bassist Mike Gordon released a solo album called Overstep last week. He performed 2 of the new songs on CBS This Morning today (Saturday, 3.8.2014) with accompanying musicians on acoustic guitar and hand drum:

The music sounds strange and psychedelic. It's an off-kilter performance, even for a member of an off-kilter band like Phish. The acoustic bass Mike plays is a different look, and a folky change-up from the Overstep album recordings, which featured lots of electronic touches in production and have more of an arena rock feel.

The basis for "Long Black Line" is the funky riffing style that Mike Gordon employs so well as a member of Phish. "Tiny Little World" is more rooted in more abstract psych pop and jazz roots. The guitar and hand drum explore the music, as there's plenty of jamming in the short time they're given. The downside is that the vocals and jams don't always hit the note, and moments can be downright cringeworthy. Still, these are interesting and unusual songs that can be quite satisfying to listen to.
