Lousy With Sylvianbriar, of Montreal's ridiculously-titled twelfth album, is now available to stream on Spotify.

Frontman Kevin Barnes and company keep things tinged with the same psychedelia that's always been a hallmark of the band's sound, but Lousy With Sylvianbriar tones down the glam-rock bombast that reared its head on of Montreal's last few albums. The album has the band sounding chiller and less busy than they have in years -- perhaps a product of the entire thing being recorded at Barnes' house on a 24-track recorder -- eschewing the studio wizardry that was a necessary component of songs like "Heimdalsgate Like A Promethean Curse."

If you're a fan of Barne's weirder side, have no fear, because the lyrics on Lousy With Sylvianbriar are still wacky as ever. We don't want to spoil too much for you, so we'll just share the best example: "You post naked .gifs of your epileptic fits." Way to bring songwriting into the 21st century, bro!
