This past weekend brought the NBA All-Star Game to New Orleans, along with a bevy of performances by some top-notch musical talents. In addition to Pharrell's pregame show and Trombone Shorty's halftime extravaganza, Kendrick Lamar took the stage between the three point shootout and dunk contest to perform "M.A.A.D. City" and "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe." Watch the performance of both songs above.
Accompanied by a phenomenal four piece band, Lamar rapped the two g.o.o.d. kid, m.A.A.d. city cuts with visible glee, smiling more than usual and interacting with fans in the front row. He wore a pair of the newly-released Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneakers (some of which are selling for thousands of dollars on eBay), which stood out against his otherwise all-black attire. Lamar's backing band were all given the chance to shine, with the drummer liberally doling out impressive fills and the bassist ripping some slick riffs amid the songs. Keeping a live hip hop show interesting can sometimes be a challenge, but with such talented musicians involved, it was no problem at all for Lamar and Co.
