Yesterday, Anderson .Paak released a silky smooth new song called "Make It Better" featuring Motown legend Smokey Robinson. Listen and watch the music video above.
"Make It Better" takes listeners on a ride through the ups and downs of relationships, showing how people ultimately must put in the work to make them last and flourish. Anderson cuts right through to the heart with vulnerable and relatable lyrics like, "It's easier to run away / Than to look for what would make you stay."
As usual, Anderson .Paak captivates listeners with his unique mix of old-school R&B with neo-funk and hip-hop. Smokey Robinson's contributions are subtle, but you can hear his vocal playing off Anderson's to create infectious harmonies and classic soul vibes.
This is the second single off his upcoming album, Ventura, following the more political "King James." The LP is set to release next week, on April 12, 2019. Pick it up on Amazon.
