East Nashville artist Drew Holcomb has spent a good portion of his ten year career flying under the radar. Having just released another excellent studio album, Medicine, Holcomb might be on the verge of being a breakthrough artist in 2015.
The twelve songs found on Medicine contain acoustic driven songs accompanied by Drew's warm and honest vocals, with down-to-earth lyrics that one can easily relate to. Relaxed rhythms fueled with feel-good piano playing and mellow pedal steel guitar bring life to the tunes. Drew Holcomb possesses the modern folk sensibilities of Ray LaMontagne while creating straight-ahead rock songs that recall Tom Petty.
"There's a thousand ways to say I love you, but there's only one way to walk out the door" laments Drew on "Heartbreak." Do yourself and your soul a favor and listen to Medicine above.
Other recommended tracks include "Tightrope," "Here We Go," "Avalanche," "You'll Always Be My Girl," and "The Last Thing We Do."
Medicine is currently available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes. You can also stream the full album above on Spotify.
