Brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson, otherwise known as the North Mississippi Allstars, made a trip to the Bronx to perform "Meet Me In The City" and "Rollin 'n Tumblin" at the studio of Fordham's public radio station WFUV.
Although their set was just two songs long, the brothers didn't waste the opportunity to show off their impressive blues chops. On "Meet Me In The City," they stomped and strutted their way through a moody cover of the Junior Kimbrough classic. Then, they gave a nod to the DIY instrumentation found in blues music--Luther broke out his homemade "lowebow" cigar box guitar and Cody held down the rhythm on a washboard for their gritty rendition of "Rollin 'n Tumblin." It's a great blues band covering two legendary songs--don't miss it.
