Record Store Day happened this past Saturday, and so did MGMT's cassingle (cassette single) "Alien Days." The song is the first taste of the band's forthcoming self-titled third album.
The track is about "that feeling when a parasitic alien is in your head, controlling things," shared lead vocalist and guitarist Andrew VanWyngarden with NME. It all sounds spacey to me, but keyboardist Ben Goldwasser says of the album, "We're not trying to make music that everyone understands the first time they hear it."
MGMT is planned to be released sometime in June of this year. But until then, check out "Alien Days" below.
