Morrissey, the former singer of The Smiths, cancelled his 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' appearance for today, citing "animal serial killers" as the reason. The duck-hunting, beard loving, entertaining Robertson family from Louisiana of the reality show 'Duck Dynasty', are slated to be the guests on tonights show. Morrissey, a vegan and animal rights activist, refused to be on the same show as the stars of 'Duck Dynasty', to which he referred to as "animal serial killers". On 'Duck Dynasty', the Duck Commander family who manufactures duck calls exhibit their daily activities and family rituals which include hunting, "using the land", and their business.

Morrissey told his fans in a press statement that he would perform on Kimmel as long as the 'Duck Dynasty' guests were removed. He also stated, "As far as my reputation is concerned, I can't take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty then we must step away."

According to Billboard, Jimmy Kimmel replaced Morrissey with Denver band Churchill.
