This past year, Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches blew up thanks to the massive acclaim of their debut album, The Bones Of What You Believe. This past weekend they performed "The Mother We Share" at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend. Watch it above.
Frontwoman Lauren Mayberry impresses with a voice that stands up to the thumping bass that reverberates throughout the song and doesn't vary much from the album version. The band incorporates their vocal effects and they utilize flashing blue lights throughout the set to give their stage a club atmosphere. There was a small a microphone glitch but Mayberry powers right through it without slipping up.
