Mastodon released Once More 'Round The Sun in June and they're still hard at work promoting it. Last night, they swung by Jimmy Kimmel Live for a performance of "The Motherload."
With drummer Brann Dailor on lead vocals, the track was an interesting choice for a television performance, but the band killed it all the same. Perhaps they wanted to showcase Dailor's more polished vocal sound to appeal to the less metal-friendly TV masses. Regardless, Brent Hinds struts down in front of the stage for some sick solo work and Troy Sanders bellows out the brutal backing parts, so it's still a rockin' performance.
