Ed Sheeran has again stepped up to the plate and surprised us all with a soaring new take on his song "Don't." This time, Sheeran has called upon rap legend Rick Ross to spit an opening verse on the official remix. For Sheeran, having Ross collaborate on this latest track opens him up to a wider audience. While the original song is pretty much the same, the minute-long rap at the beginning adds a sense of earthiness to the hit.
In contrast to most modern rap trends, Ross raps over a simple guitar melody, which is such a refreshing and clean sound. He spits rhymes about snow white yachts, how Sheeran has the streets poppin', and how he built his empire from nothing. Once Ross has finished, the original version of "Don't" ensues, with a few ad libs from Ross towards the end.
Sheeran's second studio album, x, has been very successful, and it remains at number one in the UK for the eighth week in a row. You can stream the full album right here at Zumic. In the meantime, be sure to tune to Sheeran's Zumic artist page for all the latest in music, news, and tour dates.
