Roadkill Ghost Choir's debut full-length album, In Tongues, is a southern rock record with a modern twist. The band holds true to the genre with Kiffy Meyers' pedal steel guitar and Stephen Garza's bluesy guitar licks, but they make the sound their own with Andrew Shepherd's wispy vocals and the haunting echo of the keys.

The band's music definitely possesses a darker vibe, but as Andrew comments in an interview with Dead Curious, "Our music is not void of hope, but you won’t find many feel good tracks or sweet love jams on the new record." Shepherd's ominous lyrics are contrasted nicely by his ethereal vocals, which soar above the band's big rock sound.
