In 2005, two teenage girls filmed themselves lip-synching to the Pixies' "Hey" and uploaded it to YouTube. Now, nine years later, they have returned to direct the official music video for Indie Cindy track "Ring The Bell."

Since the original upload, the lip-synching clip has had almost 34 million views. “It’s the most hits we have on video,” guitarist Joey Santiago told Radio.com. The girls who made it, Lital Mizel and Adi Frimmerman, met the band at a show in Israel last year and were recruited to direct the official video for "Ring The Bell."

The music video sees the Mizel and Frimmerman frolicking about in nostalgic revelry. They scrounge the streets for vintage whosits and whatsits, collecting neon-colored trinkets in a shopping cart. They drag their retro haul into the forest and throw a time-travel party, where all the attendees show up in clothes from their favorite era. It's a simple video, but the directors intended to recall simpler times, so it works out well.

The Pixies released Indie Cindy earlier this year. You can stream the whole record right here on Zumic or purchase it via Amazon. For more music, videos, news, and tour dates, check out their Zumic artist page.
