Singer-songwriter Timothy Showalter, aka Strand of Oaks, has released a cover of Asia’s 1982 hit "Heat of the Moment" for AV Club Undercover. You can watch the performance above.
While the original is an upbeat, typical '80s-sounding rock tune, Timothy and company slow down the song to a moodier, Velvet Underground-like song. Instead of the flashy guitar solo that's on Asia's version, keyboardist Eliza Jones fills in with a relaxed solo. Throughout the song, the band had fun as demonstrated by Timothy's exaggerated moves and Eliza munching on popcorn while playing.
Asked why he picked this song, Timothy responds, "I live in the heat of the moment." He then jokes that his French bulldog, Harley, is a big Asia fan.
