Today, John Legend unleashed his latest single, "Glory" featuring Chicago rapper Common. The inspirational song serves as the leading track from the upcoming film, Selma.

How perfect is the timing of this film and song? In the wake of the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, Legend delivers a message of hope to his people. "Glory" is nothing less than powerful. The piano-driven beat is well complemented by Legend's strong vocals and Common's deep, heartfelt verse. He raps, "That's why Rosa sat on the bus / That's why we walk through Ferguson with our hands up / When it go down we woman and man up / They say, 'Stay down,' and we stand up." Listen above to the uplifting track.

On November 11th, Selma was premiered at the American Film Institute Festival. It will be theatrically released in the United States on Christmas Day.
