"Don't Wanna Fight" - Alabama Shakes [YouTube Official Animation Video + Lyrics]

2014 was a quiet year for the Alabama Shakes, but this year they're back with a new album and a big tour scheduled. Above, you can listen to "Don't Wanna Fight," the first song the band has shared from their upcoming album, Sound & Color, and it sounds great!

Muted guitar picking gives way to a steady beat before Brittany Howard joins in on vocals. You can feel the anguish as she pleads, "I don't wanna fight no more." The rhythm flows like a snake under a moonless sky, and a hazy solo leaves the listener wanting more.

Over on ATO Records' website, Brittany shared details about how the band approached the new LP:

We took our time to write this record, and I’m really glad we did. We were able to sit down and think about what’s exciting to us, explore all the things we wanted to on our first album. This record is full of genre-bending songs—it’s even harder now when people ask, ‘What kind of band are you?’ I have no clue.
