Earlier this week, Big Sean unleashed the visuals to "Dark Sky (Skyscrapers)," the first track off his latest album Dark Sky Paradise. The album was released on February 24th.
Aside from the countless money and women references in most of his songs, another common theme in his music is his rise to super-stardom. Over the gloomy, yet suspenseful beat, he raps, "I started rapping Biggie Smalls in the basement / And now we headed to the tallest skyscrapers." The song also features Sean's quick-paced flow and clever wordplay. He raps in the first verse, "Credit card used to be EBT, in the D though that's D-EBT / I've been thinking about becoming a cop / So I can murk some niggas one by one off legally."
The dimly lit video was shot in Sean's hometown of Detroit. It features the GOOD Music signee rapping in a freight elevator in a dark, deserted warehouse.
