Last night, talk show host David Letterman ended his 33 year career on late night TV, but not before having his favorite band come on to send him a proper sendoff. Above, you can watch the Foo Fighters's electric performance of "Everlong" paired with video highlights from Letterman's 23 years as host of The Late Show on CBS.

The band and the song hold a special place in Dave's heart. Letterman explains in his final farewell that the song helped him recover after his quintuple-bypass heart surgery in 2000. The Foo Fighters even canceled a South American tour to come onto the show to perform, at the request of Letterman.

Dressed in their finest attire, the band deliver a passionate, top notch performance. After we see them start the song, we're shown clips involving gags, celebrities, musicians, and other highlights from Letterman's illustrious career. We hear the band ripping through "Everlong," providing a fun and emotional soundtrack to the highlight reel. It's a fitting video montage that will have you remembering some of Dave's greatest Late Show moments.
