Last year, Amos Lee set out on tour to promote his album Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song. Fans in Colorado, however, got a very different performance than the rest of the nation, as Lee teamed up with the Colorado Symphony and played at the scenic Red Rocks Ampitheatre. That concert is now being turned into an album for the rest of us to hear, and we couldn't be more excited.

This rendition of Lee's "Violin" is similar to the Mission Bell album version but made more dramatic with the help of the symphony. Strings rise and fall with grace, horns resonate in the background, and tinkering percussion bells make the song more playful. The sound quality is superb, making us forget about the lucky audience until they give their roaring approval at the very end of the song.

Live At Red Rocks With The Colorado Symphony drops on June 16th. Pick it up on Amazon.

Lee's last album, Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song is available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3).  You can also stream the album for free right here on Zumic.
