Leon Bridges is making his mark with his debut album, Coming Home, which showcases the defined style of classic rhythm and blues from front to back with touches of gospel and soul.

Inspired by '50s and '60s soul artists such as Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye, Bridges recreates that certain sound in his own unique way. It is evident that he pours his heart and soul into every single song. Also influenced by the upbringing of his mother, you can instantly recognize the expression of emotion and endless endearment behind every song on Coming Home.

The very iconic and tender song about his mother, "Lisa Sawyer," tells a story about her early life in New Orleans, and it sure is catching the attention of many. "Smooth Sailin'" offers a distinct soul sound with soft call and response parts in the bridge. The album's compelling gospel closer, "River," is a clear tribute to the early artists that inspire him. Listening to this powerful and perfectly crafted album can give one the opportunity to feel as if they're experiencing the culture and era that his music honors.

Leon Bridges is bringing back the sound of the old school soul era, while proving the timeless beauty of great music.

He recently announced a full US tour and he'll be on the road from the beginning of October to mid-November. Check out Leon Bridges' tour dates to see if he's performing at a venue near you.
