In preparation of the upcoming 30th anniversary of Farm Aid, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform Willie's 1960 hit song, "Night Life." Watch the duo's performance above.
Jon Batiste and the Stay Human band do an excellent job of bringing new life into "Night Life," while Willie Nelson's harp player, Mickey Raphael, and Mellencamp's guitar player, Andy York, play bluesy licks. Willie and Mellencamp alternate on vocals, and Willie throws in some guitar licks for good measure. The song retains its relaxed vibe, and the addition of instruments create an overall jazzier sound.
Farm Aid 30 will be held on September 19, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. Some of the featured performers include Willie Nelson and family, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, and many more.
