YES!
Weezer dropped by Beats 1 radio on Apple Music to debut their new song, "Do You Wanna Get High?" Stream it above on YouTube.
This is Weezer at their best, with infectious vocal melodies, edgy lyrics, crushing guitars, and bombastic drums. In some ways, the song sounds like the Pinkerton classic "The Good Life" crossed with the Green Album's "Hash Pipe." If you think the song is glorifying drugs, pay attention to the lyrics that paint a pretty grim picture:
Now our bones start to ache
As we cramp on the pot
And we fall to the floor
With our face in a knot
The band are currently without a record label, and trying new things. Frontman Rivers Cuomo explained to Apple Music's Zane Lowe that "Do You Wanna Get High" contains a sample from a '60s track, and a different groove than anything Weezer have done before. Cuomo also said that the track was recorded by the band playing together live and the guitar solo was the first take.
Last week, the band shared a bizarre music video for "Thank God For Girls." Lowe shared that both songs are expected to be on the band's next album.
