Colorado-based group Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats have taken to San Diego's legendary Trestles surfing area to perform one of their fan-favorites, "Look It Here." Watch above, on YouTube.

Teaming up with The FADER and World Surf League (WSL), folk-rocker Nathaniel Rateliff plays the soulful jam with his bandmates, intercut with shots of surfers shredding the nearby waves during the Hurley Pro tournament. The scene can be described as, one YouTube commenter pointed out, "Very Zen." We hear the ocean waves crash underneath the organically acoustic sounds of Nathaniel Rateliff and his band playing out to the sea.

Rateliff also shared the story of writing the song with The Fader:

Rateliff — who is currently on a sold-out nationwide tour with The Night Sweats — says he had the idea for "Look It Here" while he was in bed, unable to sleep. "I thought it would be cool if at the end of 'Trying So Hard Not To Know' horns came in and it jumped right into another song," he told The FADER via e-mail. "I had the horn melody so I got up out of bed and made a quick recoding of it and had a coupe of words to add. I finished the next morning. It ended up being 'Look It Here.'”

The band's 2015 album, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, is now available on Amazon. You can also stream it on Spotify and read our review here on Zumic.
