Today, Austin post-rock band Explosions in the Sky announced that they'll be releasing a new album titled The Wilderness. In anticipation of the release, they've also shared the first single, "Disintegration Anxiety." Listen to it above, via the band's YouTube.
The instrumental song soars with the help of drum beats, frantic guitar / bass picking, and extended sound effects. One can definitely feel a sense of anxiety as the tune progresses and comes to an abrupt stop.
In 2014, the band did the soundtrack for the film Manglehorn. This will be their first studio album release since 2011's Take Care, Take Care, Take Care. Pick up The Wilderness on Amazon. It's set for an April 1, 2016 release.
