Updated 5:22 PM: The official video above was made private on Springsteen's YouTube account. Prince has always been very protective of his intellectual property online. You can watch an audience recording above and we'll keep our fingers crossed that the pro-shot video comes back up.

On April 21, the music world lost yet another legend when it was reported that Prince had passed away. Many musicians around the world were deeply saddened by the news, and in the following days, bands paid tribute to the late musician by playing his songs.

Above, you can watch Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's emotional cover of Prince's 1984 tune "Purple Rain," which opened up the first night of two at Brooklyn's Barclays Center in New York. The song is available as a free MP3 download by visiting Springsteen's official website, where you can also buy a professional recording of the entire concert.

June of 1984 was quite a month for music. Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A. was released on June 4 and shot to #1 on the charts — when the charts really meant something. Three weeks later, Prince and the Revolution's Purple Rain debuted and eventually took the #1 spot on the album chart as the world got swept up in a purple revolution. Prince traded the #1 album chart position with Bruce Springsteen again 24 weeks later in 1985, as the two artists defined an era of pop/rock music.

"The Boss" will be bringing his The River tour to Europe beginning May 14. For more information about that, as well as Bruce Springsteen's latest music and news, check out his Zumic artist page.
