Bob Dylan's most recent album, Shadows in the Night, featured nothing but Frank Sinatra covers. His next album, Fallen Angels, will feature songs from artists such as Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, and Sammy Cahn, while he continues to cover Frank Sinatra. Today, Bob Dylan's official YouTube account released audio for "All The Way" by Ol' Blue Eyes.
The song was first published in 1957, with the music written by Jimmy Van Heusen and lyrics by Sammy Cahn. Compared with Frank Sinatra's classic recording, Dylan removes the strings and adds Hawaiian pedal steel guitar and jazzy upright bass. His aged vocals are relaxed and clear, providing an intimate feel to this rendition.
Pick up Fallen Angels on Amazon. It's scheduled to be released on May 20, 2016. This follows another Sinatra tune, "Melancholy Mood."
Dylan has a busy 2016 tour scheduled lined up, as he'll be performing a number of concerts with support from Mavis Staples. For more information about that, as well as Dylan's latest music and news, check out his Zumic artist page.
