"Tired of Tomorrow" - Nothing [Official Full Album Stream + Zumic Review]

Nothing, a four-piece shoegaze band hailing from Philadelphia, have released their highly anticipated sophomore album, Tired of Tomorrow. You can stream the full deluxe album above, containing 12 tracks and running for 56 minutes.

To promote Tired of Tomorrow, Nothing has taken over social media with a meme generator contest and a custom Friday the 13th tattoo sheet. Snapchat filters will also be available at select tattoo shops.

Following their 2014 debut album, Guilty of Everything, the new record shares the same '90s vibe of distorted, whirling melodies, but digs deep into personal experience. Frontman Domenic Palermo spoke with Rolling Stone about a brutal fight that landed him in the hospital and how Tired of Tomorrow came to be:

This album feels like it's been a long, long, long time coming... I had 19 staples in my head, and they had to sew my ear back on; I'm fucked up on all these painkillers, I'm alone because the rest of the band had to drive back to Philadelphia, and I'm just sitting there in this hospital in Oakland dealing with the reality of everything... But this record was such a big part of me – there was so much blood spilled for it, both figuratively and literally – that I wasn't about to let it be tainted by someone like that, who was so blinded by pure greed... It's important to me is trying to build records that are something you'd actually want to listen to all the way through, which is a rare thing these days... Even with the circumstances we endured while making it, I feel like the music ultimately came through like I wanted it to.

With ten uniquely structured tunes, I can honestly say there are no bad tracks on this record. "The Dead Are Dumb" starts off slow with a steady bassline and picks up in an electrifying chorus that jumps right into the head-banging "Vertigo Flowers." The dreamy "Nineteen Ninety Heaven" and "Everyone Is Happy" feature hazy vocals over soft guitars. The lengthy title track, "Tired of Tomorrow," wraps up the album in a simple piano melody and hair-rising strings.

Sophomore albums are often difficult because of the high expectations from the first, but Nothing exceeds those with Tired of Tomorrow. From start to finish, this is a sonic experience that will take you on a blissful trip — no drugs needed.
