On Wednesday, Canadian indie pop artist Grimes premiered "Medieval Warfare," her contribution to the soundtrack for the film Suicide Squad. Check it out above on Spotify.

Grimes pairs ethereal verses with a cloying, catchy chorus, featuring daring, superhero-themed lyrics like "Are you big? Are you ugly? / Can you kill a man with your hands?" The electronic track stars a trip hop-influenced beat and synth harmonies.

In an interview with Zane Lowe, Grimes addressed the challenges of an indie star writing music for a blockbuster, saying:

The pressure was pretty extreme... I kept getting caught up in, "Do you want it more weird or more normal?" So I made the end more weird and the beginning more normal.

Suicide Squad: The Album is available today on Amazon, and "Medieval Warfare" is also available as a single on Amazon.
