Zack de la Rocha has a new single called "Digging for Windows" created with the assistance of sonic mastermind El-P doing production, Matt Sweeney on guitar, and Nick Hook on keys. Listen above on YouTube.
Released earlier today, the fuzzy-electronic track sees the former Rage Against the Machine frontman delving into socio-politcal topics. "Digging for Windows" references the inner city struggle. Zack de la Rocha wants society to find their way out from the oppression and corruption of the political system, and the abuse from law enforcement.
This marks only the second time that the Los Angeles emcee and the Brooklyn-based producer have worked together. The other time being on El-P's Run the Jewels 2 album, which featured Zack de la Rocha on the song "Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)." The pairing works extremely well, with Zack de la Rocha's political lyrics and vintage cadence alongside El-P's gritty droning beats.
"Digging for Windows" is now available as a free mp3 download on Amazon, as well as other music streaming services.
El-P tweeted that Zack de la Rocha has an album coming out in 2017. Stay tuned for the latest on Zumic.
