This past weekend, the 31st anniversary of the Farm Aid benefit music concert was held in Bristow, Virginia. For those who couldn't attend, the Farm Aid YouTube channel has uploaded Neil Young and Promise of the Real's live performance, which you can watch above.
Young opens up his set on solo acoustic guitar for his classic song "Heart of Gold" before Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real join him for "Out on the Weekend," "Human Weekend," and a gentle "Harvest Moon." The iconic Willie Nelson joins the band onstage for "Are There Any More Real Cowboys?" Young puts down the acoustic and straps on the electric guitar to close out the set with rocking versions of "Powderfinger" and "Rockin' in the Free World."
Farm Aid founders Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and John Mellencamp all performed at this year's concert, which raises money for family farmers in the United States. You can learn more about the organization by visiting Farmaid.org.
