Pop mainstay P!nk has released a new single from her upcoming LP Beautiful Trauma, which is slated for release on October 13, 2017. Check out the edgy lyric video above, courtesy of the artist's YouTube channel.

P!nk's lyrics are biting and accusatory, reclaiming the general disillusionment faced by many in the young adult demographic and building with it an empowering tune that preaches a sense of hope and spirit, singing "Sticks and stones, they may break these bones, but then I'll be ready / It's the start of us waking up, come on, are you ready? / Cause now it's time to let them know." The song turns on its initial lamentations of things forgotten (love, trust, us) in the chorus to capture a more inspiring tone paced by a climactic synth track.

The singer has teased the new song on social media since July 29, and offered this statement on her Instagram account in conjunction with its release:

I could not be more excited right now. My single comes out today "What About Us" and my new album Beautiful Trauma comes out October 13th. I'm certifiably, insanely proud of this album. It's been a while, and I'm grateful for all the years we've had. Looking forward to the next chapter with you.

"What About Us" was written alongside producer Steve Mac and Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid. The album features 13 songs written by P!nk and fellow songwriting collaborators Max Martin, Jack Antonoff, Shellback, Greg Kurstin, Julia Michaels, and busbee, according to RCA Records.
