James Blake just dropped an unannounced remix of "Life Round Here" on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show, and it is bonkers. Featuring Chicago MC Chance the Rapper, the remix begins and ends very similarly to the album version, but seemingly goes to hell and back over the course of three short minutes.

Beginning with Blake and Chance trading softly-sung warnings ("life ain't been round here in a minute," "save yourself first"), "Life Round Here" goes from smooth and soothing to distorted and demented in the drop of a hat, with Chance's verse setting off a sonic apocalypse of ghostly backing vocals and synth crescendos. He begins with some free-form spoken word, akin to Frank Ocean's recent verse on Earl Sweatshirt's "Sunday," but his flow syncs with the beat as soon as things start to pick up, only adding to the intensity of the track.

There's no word yet if the "Life Round Here" remix will show up on any official releases, but here's hoping for a deluxe edition of Blake's Overgrown with guest rappers on every track.
