On November 2nd 2013, Hot Chip brought their quirky electronic dance music to the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris, France for the Pitchfork Music Festival. Watch the full 82 minute set above, via the PitchforkTV YouTube Channel.
The full band delivers a great set to a packed house. The camerawork is not the best, but it matches the wild energy of the band and the crowd. One of the highlights is a tribute to Lou Reed, who passed away less than a week before this performance, as Hot Chip played "Pale Blue Eyes" originally sung by Reed in The Velvet Underground. A fitting representation of the transcendent quality of the band's music, bridging the divide between electronic, funk, pop, and rock.
