Despite having released a studio album less than a year ago, Eels (AKA Mark Oliver Everett) will return on April 22nd with a new full-length release. Listen to "Agatha Chang," the first single from The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett, above.

A weepy ode to an ex, "Agatha Chang" boasts a beautiful string arrangement and lyrics that seem penned by a less literary, more literal Leonard Cohen. Everett's voice is still distinctive as it's ever been, but musically, this is the most bare-bones song we've heard from him in a while. If you're looking for a sonic approximation of the effects a month of below-freezing weather can have on the soul (thanks for that, NYC), look no further than "Agatha Chang."

Check out the Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett tracklist below, and for a lighter side of Everett, watch the music video for a Charlton Heston diss track he made with Jim Carey, right here on Zumic.
