David Letterman's "Beatles Week" rolls on, as Sean Lennon (John Lennon's son) joined The Flaming Lips last night for a rousing rendition of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" complete with the most psychedelic stage show that anyone has ever brought to the Ed Sullivan Theater. Watch above.

Wayne Coyne sets the tone for the song, with his child-like high pitched singing and incredibly dramatic arm waving. The band behind him plays a version of the song pretty true to the original, but with a little added bombast in the chorus. Sean Lennon's singing is eerily similar to his father's. As the song progresses, the light show gets more intense and glittery ticker-tape falls from above. Visually stunning, and sonically epic. This is what the group gave on this night, and what they have been giving for a long time now.

Sean Lennon's band Ghost Of A Sabre Tooth Tiger opened up for The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala last year at Terminal 5 in New York City. Click here to check out Zumic's review of the show.
