Damon Albarn has been a busy guy this week at SXSW. Last night, he played "Clint Eastwood" with his former Gorillaz bandmates and Snoop Dogg. Earlier in the week, he played a couple new songs on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Check out a very cool acoustic performance of another new song, "Heavy Seas of Love," courtesy of WFUV's YouTube Channel.

Flanked by his enormous band consisting of two other guitar players, a pianist, backup singers, a drummer, and a string section, "Heavy Seas of Love" is one of the more minimal new Albarn songs that he's played publicly. The song starts with light finger picked guitar that becomes more intense several times over as the song unfolds. The vocal during the chorus is quite powerful, as the band sings "Heavy Seas of Love" in unison. The guitars and piano push the intensity as the harmonies build and the parts lock in with one another to develop an intricate groove. Toward the end of the song, all the instruments drop out and the vocal parts keep going as Albarn does a call and response with his backup singers.
