After 2+ years, The Black Keys have released their first new music since the 2011 album El Camino. Last week, they released a few teaser videos for their upcoming album Turn Blue which is due on May 13th. If you pre-order the Turn Blue album on iTunes, you'll receive the single "Fever" instantly.

With a bouncy bassline and keyboard groove, the song is a continuation of The Black Keys' poppier side they've been moving toward on their last couple albums. The sequenced kick-snare drums to start the song sound like classic electronic dance music, but things change about halfway through the song to more of a rock vibe.

Dan Auerbach's vocals are on point as usual, while his guitar is not as present as the keyboard sounds through most of the song. Instead of having the guitar as the centerpiece of the song, it's mainly adding support and texture leading up to a melodic lead during the bridge. There is a slight reggae rhythm feel during one section, as there several distinct movements within the 4 minute song. By the end, it gets pretty psychedelic - matching the swirling visual of the video.
