The Pixies channel Sisyphus in the new video for "Silver Snail," a cut from Indie Cindy, their latest album -- and first in 23 years.

Mount Emult directed the confounding video, which sees a young man dragging a heavy bag across a snow-covered tundra, pursued by masked nightmare people. The protagonist hurls his burden into a lake, only to be dragged back to the start. Worst summer camp ever.

What is the meaning of all this? The enigmatic lyrics don't clear anything up, but at a recent NPR Tiny Desk performance, Black Francis said the song was about an experience the band had in a rehearsal space in Somerville, MA. So, you know, don't go to the Pixies' rehearsal space.

Indie Cindy came out last month and you can stream the whole thing here at Zumic. For more wacky music videos, news, and tour dates, check out the Pixies' Zumic artist page.
