22-year-old German rocker Joon Wolfsberg has rocked Zumic’s socks. With head-turning songs like “Lonely Ranger” from her third album, The Deluxe Underdog, she’s become the latest artist to be featured through our ReverbNation contest.
“Lonely Ranger” piques your interest with a metrically ambiguous guitar / drums opening, and from there, Wolfsberg’s gritty vocal presence takes over. Her fiercely unique style and cool stutter motif will have your attention headlocked. But notice the color variety in the song’s ever-driving beat as well as the pair of knuckly, rhythmically-playful guitar solos and you’ll see she’s no standalone act. She’s joined by her father, Joe Wolfsberg, and Toni Funk on guitar, Michael Mihla on drums, and Zsolt Varadi on bass. The group’s rockabilly sound is infectious, and we at Zumic can’t wait to keep you posted on them.
We are still accepting submissions through ReverbNation to be featured on Zumic. You can check out the previous winners of the contest here at Zumic: Little Ugly and Lonely Horse.
