This morning, Raekwon released a remix of The Isley Brother's 1977 slow-jam "Footsteps in the Dark." R&B fans may remember the song as the second single off the group's double-platinum Go For Your Guns, while rap fans will recognize the instrumental as the backdrop to Ice Cube's classic "Today Was a Good Day."

Unlike Cube, Raekwon keeps Ron Isley silky-smooth voice on for a good portion of the track. The Chef raps one succinct verse, full of the spectacular imagery he is known for, and lets Isley take it away after that. The Statan Island emcee speaks on wide-range of topics, including hanging out with A-list celebrities at casinos. Raekwon meshes well with the Isley Brothers on the remix, which is more than can be said of its comically photoshopped artwork.

"Footsteps in the Dark" is the third installment of Raekwon's #TBT series. Last Thursday, The Chef released a remix to Horace Brown's 1996 "Trippin," titled "Stop Trippin." Before that, it was a remix of Rose Royce's '70s disco hit "Wishing on a Star." The Throwback Thursday series is in anticipation to Raekwon's upcoming album, F.I.L.A. (Fly INTERNATIONAL Luxurious Art), which will hit stores September 16th. It will be the Wu-Tang Clan artist's first album in more than three years.
