Brooklyn-based rapper Joey Bada$$ just released his newest single, "Big Dusty." Listen above, via SoundCloud.
As the lead single off of his upcoming debut album, B4.DA.$$, "Big Dusty" is certainly impressive. The Kirk Knight-produced track is essentially a nostalgic nod to early hip hop, from its mellow beat featuring smooth drums and pianos to its simplistic hook. Bada$$ didn't need a flashy chorus for this one, though, as the best parts of the track are in the verses where Joey showcases his lyrical prowess. The New York rapper is showing some maturity here, as he's managed to churn out a track that's easy to listen to but still extremely focused. In an Oyster Colored Velvet interview, Joey revealed that B4.DA.$$ will "explore the contrast between " while he tries to "remain different and versatile." "Big Dusty" certainly displays a side of Bada$$ that we would like to see more of.
