My Morning Jacket was the focus of a piece on CBS Sunday Morning. Journalist Serena Altschul spoke with the band before their show at Madison Square Garden, as well as going with frontman Jim James and drummer Patrick Hallahan back to their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
The interview touches on the band's start in a barn in Louiville, using the silos there as echo chambers, James finding inspiration in Roy Orbison and The Muppets, and mixing self-taught musicians with conservatory-trained ones to write their music.
