Nicki Minaj's name has been everywhere for the past couple of months, from countless features to the anticipation and release of her racy video, "Anaconda." Well, she must have wanted to give back after all the success she's been having lately. On Thursday the Queens native revealed via Twitter that she wanted to "inspire" students at her alma mater, LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, but was unfortunately turned away.

While it's easy believe that the New York City high school declined Minaj's request based on her risqué image, Gossip Cop reports that a spokeperson for the Department of Education says the rapper had planned on filming her visit, which is against school policy.

“Of course alumni are welcome back to our campuses and we love to celebrate their success, providing it does not interrupt the educational process. Alumni visit all the time and address students,” said the spokesperson. “However, we do not allow reality TV to be filmed on school property. For documentaries, any visit to a public school must be educational in nature and cannot intrude on instruction.”
