"No Guns Allowed" - Snoop Lion [Conan]

Snoop "Lion" took to the stage on Conan to preform "No Guns Allowed" accompanied by some teen-aged gospel singers and his new "rasta" persona. While I'm afraid I have to side with Bunny Wailer about this whole thing, Snoop swears he has undergone a true transformation and the upcoming album and documentary (both entitled Reincarnated) will explain the transformation:

"If I just drop this music, it leaves room for questioning," he said. "You wouldn't understand the whole journey or the transformation. When I allow you to see the movie, to go on the journey with me, to see exactly why I'm the Lion."

Whatever side you land on, it's hard to argue with the rapper's (reggae singer's?) assertion that he has earned the right to complete creative freedom and doesn't have to justify his artistic choices. Still, there's something almost unsettling about all this... and this is being written by someone who loves the Willie Nelson reggae album Countryman, so it's not as though I'm adverse to goofy, stoned reggae records. Watch the video from last night below and decide for yourself:
