Not one... not two... not three... The release of "Of Course We Know" marks the fifth single off Modest Mouses's upcoming album, Strangers to Ourselves. Check it out on YouTube above.
The track is slow paced; it has a Flaming Lips, Pink Floyd type of spacey, airy, dreamy vibe, but with a Modest Mouse touch. There are some really cool sounds and effects in the mix that create a full and layered ambience. I'd also like to highlight the "ah's" which heighten the turbulence as the song slowly builds into it.
The previous four singles Modest Mouse have released are Lampshades On Fire, Coyotes, The Best Room, and The Ground Walks, With Time In A Box.
Strangers to Ourselves is available for pre-order on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). They've pushed back the March 3 release date to March 17 and they're expected to also perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that day.
