Yesterday, a PBS special aired called In Performance at the White House: A Salute to the Troops with musical stars including Common, Mary J. Blige, Daughtry, Romeo Santos, Willie Nelson, and John Fogerty. During the performance, a bit of hilarity ensued with Barrack Obama joined Nelson and Fogerty to do the classic "On The Road Again." Watch above on YouTube.
As you'll see, the President clearly does not know the words to the song. We're going to go ahead and speculate that he actually learned them and then forgot them after spending a few minutes on Willie Nelson's tour bus. Or perhaps he joined Nelson on The White House roof for a smoke session before the show.
Watching Obama awkwardly snapping his fingers, pretending to sing, and biting his lip is truly priceless. I challenge anyone to watch this video and not laugh. In spite of Obama's awkwardness (or perhaps because of it) the performance overall is excellent. Nelson's still got it, even at 81 years old!
Go to PBS.org to watch the full hour-long program, which also features an all-star backing band including drum & bass combo Kenny Aronoff and Don Was, in addition to some of the best musicians serving in the military.
