Following the Grammy Awards on January 26th, pop songstress Lana Del Rey released her highly anticipated cover of the Disney classic "Once Upon a Dream" from the 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty. The song has been featured in the trailer for the upcoming Disney film Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie.

While the original rendition of the romantic ballad is beautiful and happy, Lana Del Rey's take on the Disney tune is much more somber and dark. The song could easily be featured in a horror film, and aside from the lyrics, Del Rey's cover doesn't even remotely sound like the song Disney fans have grown to know and love. But, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. According to the Daily Mail, Angelina Jolie hand picked the Grammy-award winning singer to cover the song and rightfully so, as the indie darling's low, jazzy voice suits the tone of the film about the Sleeping Beauty villain, Maleficent.
