G. Love and Special Sauce has released an in-the-studio video for their soulful new single "One Night Special." G. Love's sultry voice is complimented well by the pitch-perfect tones of Merry Clayton. One of the subjects of the 2013 Oscar-nominated documentary 20 Feet From Stardom, Clayton is most recognized for her background vocals on the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter." For "One Night Special," Clayton belts it, adding a perfect R&B aesthetic to the low-key pop stylings of the rest of the song.
The video shows off G. Love and Clayton's recording work, singing back and forth in the studio facing one another. The whole tone is playful, and everyone involved seem to greatly enjoy working with one another.
