Nicki Minaj addresses the recurring rumors regarding her love life in her latest single, "Only." Released today, the song features Chris Brown and labelmates Drake and Lil Wayne. "Only" serves as the 3rd single from her upcoming album, The Pinkprint, which was recently pushed back to a December 15th release.
The focus of the song is evident within the first 11 seconds. Nicki raps, "I never fucked Wayne, I never fucked Drake / On my life, man, fuck's sake." Both Drake and Wayne say that they have never slept with the Anaconda-singer in the first line of their verses, as well. Clearly, the trio are collectively addressing the public who view Nicki's sexual chemistry with both rappers as something deeper than what it is. Who can blame them though? In Nicki's "High School" video featuring Lil Wayne and her infamous "Anaconda" video featuring an appearance from Drake, she seemed to be sexually linked to the two Young Money artists. Aside from the rumors, "Only" features minimalistic production, boastful lyrics, and a hook from frequent collaborator Chris Brown.
Another interesting thing about this song is the cover art. Minaj is looking like a dominatrix, while Drake is dressed like a Young Money bishop, and Wayne is all business in a suit and tie (a throwback to the "Lollipop" video).
