When you go to a Widespread Panic concert, you never know what surprises the band will have in store for the night.

On April 12 in Mississippi, the group treated that night's audience to back-to-back high-energy covers of The Band. During the show, they performed "Ophelia" from the 1975 album Northern Lights – Southern Cross and "The Shape I'm In" from the 1970 album Stage Fright. Yesterday, WSP uploaded that performance onto their YouTube channel, and you can watch above.

Other covers Widespread Panic have shared on YouTube recently include Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf," David Bowie's "Heroes," and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah."

You can buy the official soundboard recording of this concert on livewidespreadpanic.com, where the band sells most of their concert recordings. If you haven't done so already, pick up Panic's 2015 album, Street Dogs, on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). You can also stream the full album for free and read our review here on Zumic.
